Meet the Team: Fatima

For some people, family is so important, they seek and create it everywhere they go. This is especially the case for Fatima, Linens Department Manager at MCTE. Of course, with seven kids, a loving family, and an awesome work team, we’ve grown to consider the word “family” synonymous with Fatima, and for more reasons than her tireless positivity and warmth. Fatima walked into MCTE to inquire about a job over eight years ago. She met with JT (who most of you know as one of our beloved and charismatic CEOs), who accepted her application. As Fatima began to leave, she asked one of the linen press employees if she could try her hand at the machine, just to understand how the job worked. Unbeknownst to…

Pick of the Linen

MCTE has been growing and with growth comes a whole lot of new inventory! And since we admire and value our client’s opinions, we want you to get in on the fun. We are working towards purchasing new linen and want your help in selecting what linen YOU would like to see on our wall. Below you will find some inspiration boards that we have paired with the potential linen to help you visualize how you might style it for your wedding or future event. Let us know what linen is your favorite! COCOA LAMOUR  A not so boring neutral. Pair it with pink for the spring or cranberry for the fall and winter for the most luscious foundation. CORAL SHANTUNG For the bride who…

MCTE Gives Back!

Every quarter the Music City Tents & Events management rolls out a “theme” to engage and encourage company wide involvement in a whole array of areas. This quarter’s theme was all about MCTE MPACT! or in other words, how we as a company can impact each other, our clients, Nashville, and beyond. The letters stand for “P” Posts, “A” Attendance, “C” Community Service, and “T” touches! Throughout the quarter, we’ll give you a glimpse into our theme and share some pictures and feedback along the way. Today’s post is all about our Community Service. We have thoroughly enjoyed getting the opportunity to give back to our great city in a variety of ways. A couple weeks ago, some of the warehouse team got together to…

Meet the Team: Katie

i love working with my cheekwood clients- the results are extraordinary! Most people watch “The Wedding Planner” movie and assume this industry is just like J-Lo portrayed, but we all know that isn’t the case: there’s a lot more that goes into bringing event ideas to reality. Sometimes our career paths endure many twists and turns before arriving at the current destination, much like our sales team member Katie’s story. Katie hails from Appleton, WI (trivia: also the home of Harry Houdini). The daughter of a cardiologist and a nurse, Katie took the opposite path of her parents and siblings and chose to study English at Washington & Lee University in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. She began a wedding planner internship after her freshman…

Meet Our Team: Jay Dee

The term “Renaissance Man” is tough to define. Most people would consider it a person with a wide variety of interests and knowledge, but we’re not most people. While the modern Renaissance man doesn’t have to be a master sculptor or an accomplished poet, we would like to introduce you to Jay Dee: a poet, father, son, hip hop artist, visual artist, producer, believer, motivator, and the brains and brawn behind The Woodshop at MCTE. It takes less than 5 minutes with Jay Dee for anyone to realize Renaissance Men still do exist. A Nashville native with not a hint of southern drawl, Jay Dee grew up on the west side in a neighborhood not far from MCTE. With his childhood being marred by difficulties and…
